CJMX 2009 Summer Series Report:KP Equipe racing junior team members Aaron Patstone and Harry Ingram both placed highly at the Coventry Junior motocross clubs summer series that came to a close Sunday. With the final round being held at the excellent Longbrooke circuit in Kenilworth, auto class team mates Harry and Aaron both raced to a top five overall series positions with Aaron taking a brilliant third overall and Harry taking a confidence building fifth. This was a great boost for both riders but more so for Harry who has taken a few nasty crashes recently and it was great to see him enjoying his racing and coming away with his prized trophy. Aaron rode his new bike for the first time at Longbrooke and took third overall on the day after three long races that saw the auto’s racing with the super competitive 65cc class, after finishing practice Aaron commented on how much he likes the new KTM auto by saying “the engine is really nice because it’s soft” I think this is his way of telling me it’s got more bottom end and pulls smoother! Ha brilliant. KP Equipe racing would like to thank all the members at CJMX for putting on a great meeting and giving us all a brilliant enjoyable weekend.
ORPA England V Wales two day 3rd & 4th May at Wroxton report:
KP Equipe racing youth rider Aaron Patstone rode to 11th place overall at the brilliantly prepared Wroxton circuit at the weekend. In only his 6th meeting Aaron made great progress throughout the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the 2 day event, with 22 auto riders entered Aaron was lying 9th after the first day's racing but a crash on the start of the last race cost him a top 10 placing overall, never the less it didn't take the smile off his face. England won the event overall from Wales with some excellent racing in all classes. Aaron Patstone Bio
Round 1 AMCA Hare and Hounds championship report:
KP Equipe racing rider Keith Patstone rode to steady 9th overall at the first AMCA hare and hounds championship round held at the super tough Shukborough circuit near Southam on Sunday. Keith raced the vets class in the 3 hour grueling event which saw the majority of the circuit made up in the very slippery woodland area, with only a couple of places out of the woods to rest this made for a very intense and demanding race. >>more
Round 3 Putoline Fast Eddy championship report:Round 3 of the Putoline Fast Eddy X-country championship took place on Easter Sunday 12/4/09 at a fast and very rutty in parts Ashby Del a zuch circuit. K.P Equipe Racing rider Keith Patstone rode to a sensible 2nd position, just missing the win by a whisker. This result was a true measure of how fit and determined the veteran class rider is; riding with a torn crutiate knee ligament after an incident at the first GBXC round some weeks back, Keith has had to back off a lot of his weekly training due to the injury but because he put so much effort in during the off season and the aid of ISO2 Nutrition energy and recovery products it hasn’t effected his performance on the track. Keith now leads the vets class by a race in hand margin of 27 points.
KP Equipe racing youth riders Aaron Patstone and Ben Kind traveled north to Armthorpe near Doncaster on Sunday 1/3/09 for the second round of the Coventry club championship.
Ben suffered bad luck after leading his 1st race from the start only to have a nasty crash in the bomb hole section of the super jumpy circuit. Ben tried to race in race two but was in to much discomfort to continue due his first race crash and pulled out; Ben will be back in action this weekend at Wroxton to get valuable race time in before he travels to Chippenham next weekend for his first ever BSMA national.
Aaron had another steady weekend learning on a track he has never ridden anything like before and finishing 3rd in the auto class…After walking the track on Saturday Aaron commented on how big the jumps were but did his best in the 3 races on Sunday, he also had the added distraction of racing with the much faster junior 65cc class riders, which he actually really enjoyed.
KP Equipe racing youth riders have a great start to the season:Coventry Junior Motocross Club hosted their season opener yesterday 1/3/09 at the new Long Bank venue near Kenilworth and KP Equipe Racing riders Aaron Patstone and Ben Kind had a great start to the season.
Aaron Riding the auto class finished a great fourth overall after taking a third, and two fourth place race finishes on a very fast well laid out course that was in mostly perfect condition except for two very soft marshy areas that did cause a few problems with the ruts. The main thing is Aaron went home with a big smile which is what racing is all about.
More experienced 65cc pilot Ben Kind came home a brilliant 3rd overall after taking second, fourth and third place race finishes. It’s early days for Ben who’s still getting used to his new KTM 65cc after moving up from the auto class last year and he was in fine form showing great speed and control on the fast circuit, once he has got used to the gears a little more, and mastered his starting technique Ben will definitely be a force for the club championship we feel.
KP Equipe Racing would like to thank CJMX Club for an excellent prepared fun meeting.
KP Equipe Racing / ISO2 rider Keith Patstone takes 1st win...
Keith took his first win of the year yesterday 15/3/09 at the second round of the Fast Eddy x-country championship held at Bicton Shrewsbury; riding the super competitive vets class Keith set a commanding pace early on in the 2 hour event on a track which saw a mixture of flat out tacky fields and hills to super slippery and tricky cambered wooded sections to take a comfortable win at the end. Keith said that he couldn’t believe how fresh he felt throughout the whole race and his concentration was awesome, the only thing I changed was the timing I took my Complete Release this morning, I used the same mixture of Complete Energy; Glutamine and Complete Re-lease in my back pack… The combination is awesome!! Keith now leads the Vets championship and is looking forward to the next round.
Keith Patstone
KP Equipe racing rider Keith Patstone finished a fantastic 2nd place in the first round of the 'Fast Eddy' cross country race series held at Chattenden, Kent on Sunday 25th January 2009. Keith racing in the veterans class took his KTM EXC 250 for its maiden race of 2009 on a very deeply rutted and hilly circuit. Click image for larger view. Picture by http://www.foto-x.co.uk/
